Novell Groupwise passes with flying colors
Novell Groupwise is the third biggest player in the corporate email market behind Outlook Exchange and Notes. A while ago we heard from a Groupwise product manager at Novell, Alex Evans, who wanted to test against our email acid test. We sent Alex the email, and he soon had some great news for us.
Novell Groupwise, in it’s current version 7, renders the acid test perfectly, which puts it right up with Apple Mail and Yahoo Mail in terms of support for modern HTML and CSS.

This is for the Windows version of Groupwise. The excellent result also applies to the WebAccess version, and although the testing has not been completed, Linux and OSX version are also expected to meet the same levels.
Great job Novell team! We appreciate your efforts in building your product, and also in being prepared to test your client against our emails. We look forward to similar results for some other email clients in the not too distant future!
Great news, but why isn’t Grouupwise client listed on your “Client” site ?
Yes indeed!
I agree with Mare Selan, please put up a link to the GroupWise results on the main page of this great site !

So just confirming -
On this page - http://www.email-standards.org/clients/
there are two categories:
1. Solid Support and 2.Improvement Recommended
GroupWise would be in the Solid Support Category?
why isn’t Groupwise client listed on your “Client” site
NickHo
Yes, if we had done full testing with Novell it would appear in our solid support category. It’s not there because we have not had access in the past for full testing, and because we get a lot less questions about it compared to the ones we chose.
Sorry, off topic of this blog entry, but the RSS feed for the site seems to be broken, I was going to add it to my list of feeds but it brings up an error.
Thanks!
Congratulation’s!
@Rick, here the RSS works perfectly.
@geld - Mmm, strange, it’s definitely broken! I get an error and trying the feed on feedvalidator.org shows errors too:
column 0: XML parsing error: <unknown>:1:0: no element found

The groupwise client uses whatever version of IE installed to render HTML emails.
Anytime we discovered html emails which appear empty (but are not) in the groupwise client. Novell tech support have blamed IE but now that the shoe is on the other foot.....
Congratulations!
My experience with the Mac client is pretty horrific… I’d strongly recommend testing it before suggesting it would be all right.

They are referring to html rendering issues, not particular issues you had opening your Imac while in a livingroom with a latte.
I search this hardly, thanks :-)
